Become a member of UNIFEM Australia
One of the best ways of assisting UNIFEM is to become a member today. Your membership fees will provide urgently needed funds to assist women in developing nations around the world. In addition, your annual fee will allow you free/ discounted entry to all UNIFEM and Young UNIFEM events. You will also receive monthly newsletters and information updates from both UNIFEM and Young UNIFEM. Be sure to include on your membership application that are you are interested in the Young UNIFEM. Become a volunteer with Young UNIFEM
The Young UNIFEM is searching for dynamic volunteers to help us grow, current vacancies are listed below, and we encourage both young men and women to apply for these positions. However, we are always on the look out for enthusiastic and passionate individuals. The network aims to provide volunteers the opportunity to strengthen their skills, experience and hidden talents in the areas they are most passionate about.

Organise a Spring Walk
Each year thousands of women around Australia organise or participate in a Spring Walk. The walks are a fun easy way to get your friends, work colleagues and/or classmates out for a day in the sun. Launched on the International Day of Peace, all funds raised through Spring Walks go towards UNIFEM’s amazing Peace Scholarship program, in which young women from developing countries, such as Afgahanastan, are sponsored a position at a Univeristy in Australia. These young women, who have already demonstrated commitment to furthering peace and gender equality, are provided with the education and skills to improve their capacity to lead and advocate for women on return to their home countries.
Spring Walks are also a good time to think about all those young women in developing countries who walk more than 5kms every day to collect water and firewood. This practice is often at the expense of personal safety, employment and education.
